Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Mathu Labs ("Mathu Labs," "we," "us" or "our") handles information in connection with our mobile games and apps available on the Apple App Store and Google Play (each an "App," together the "Apps") and our website, mathulabs.com (together, the "Services").
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
We only receive information directly from you if you choose to contact us, for example by emailing support. In that case we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message.
Information stored on your device
Our Apps save things like your progress, scores, settings, preferences and content you create locally on your device so the App works as expected. This data stays on your device and is not sent to us. If you use Apple Game Center or Google Play Games, or your device's own backup (such as iCloud or Google backup), that data is handled by Apple or Google under their privacy policies.
Information collected automatically
Depending on the App, limited technical information may be collected automatically, such as:
- Device type, operating system version, language and app version;
- Crash reports and performance diagnostics (for example, what was happening in the app when it crashed);
- General usage events (for example, features used or levels completed) that are not tied to your identity.
We do not collect your precise location, contacts or photos. We do not collect video or audio from your device's camera or microphone. See the Snoozly section below for how camera feeds you connect are handled.
Snoozly camera feeds
Snoozly is a monitoring app that connects to RTSP cameras you choose, such as a camera in a baby's room, to show the live feed and alert you to motion and sound. Here is how that information is handled:
- Camera details stay on your device. Camera addresses, usernames and passwords you enter are stored on your device (in the device's secure storage where available) and are not sent to us.
- Video and audio are processed on your device. Snoozly connects directly from your device to your camera. Motion and sound detection happen on your device. We do not receive, record, store or view your camera's video or audio.
- Local network access. Snoozly asks for permission to access your local network so it can find and connect to cameras on your Wi-Fi.
- Alert clips stay on your device. When Snoozly detects motion or sound, it may save a short clip so you can review it later. These clips are stored only on your device and are never uploaded to us. You can delete them in the app, and they are removed if you uninstall Snoozly.
- Listening in the background. If you choose, Snoozly keeps monitoring audio while your screen is off so it can alert you. This audio comes from your camera, not your phone's microphone, and is processed on your device.
- Notifications. If you allow notifications, Snoozly uses them to alert you to motion or sound. Alerts are generated on your device.
- Your camera's own service. Your camera, its manufacturer and any cloud service it uses may handle data under their own privacy policies. Snoozly does not control those services.
Snoozly is a convenience tool. It is not a medical device and is not a substitute for adult supervision.
Purchases
If an App offers in-app purchases, payment is processed entirely by Apple or Google. We never receive your payment card details. We may receive a confirmation that a purchase was made so we can unlock the content you bought.
2. How we use information
- To provide, operate and maintain the Apps;
- To fix bugs, diagnose crashes and improve performance;
- To understand, in aggregate, how the Apps are used so we can make them better;
- To respond to your support requests;
- To comply with legal obligations and protect the security of the Services.
We do not use your information to build profiles about you or to make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
3. Third-party services
Some Apps may use trusted third-party services to help us operate them. These providers process information on our behalf and under their own privacy policies:
- Apple (App Store, Game Center, in-app purchases, App Analytics) — apple.com/legal/privacy
- Google (Google Play, Play Games, in-app billing) — policies.google.com/privacy
4. How we share information
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only:
- With service providers described above, who help us run the Apps;
- If required by law, regulation or valid legal process;
- To protect the rights, safety and property of Mathu Labs, our users or others;
- As part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information.
5. Children's privacy
Our Apps can be enjoyed by people of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country) without verifiable parental consent, as required by laws such as the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the GDPR. Our Apps do not require children to provide any personal information.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us personal information, please contact us at support@mathulabs.com and we will delete it.
6. Data retention and deletion
App data stored on your device stays there until you delete the App or clear its data. Support emails are kept only as long as needed to resolve your request and for reasonable record-keeping. Diagnostic and analytics data held by our service providers is retained according to their retention settings, typically no longer than 14 months.
How to delete your data:
- Uninstalling an App removes its locally stored progress and settings from your device.
- To request deletion of any information we hold about you (such as support emails), email support@mathulabs.com with the subject "Data deletion request." We will respond within 30 days.
7. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Residents of California and other U.S. states with privacy laws, and of the European Economic Area, United Kingdom and similar regions, can exercise these rights by contacting us. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
You can also limit data collection through your device settings, for example by turning off "Share with App Developers" on iOS (Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements) or adjusting Usage & Diagnostics on Android.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to keep the data we handle to a minimum.
9. International users
Mathu Labs is based in the United States. If you use the Services from outside the U.S., information handled by our service providers may be processed in the U.S. or other countries, with appropriate safeguards where required by law.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we will provide additional notice where appropriate.
